萩の道 A Japanese bush clover path

松尾芭蕉が「奥の細道」の旅に出てから323年後、彼の歩いた奥州平泉中尊寺の月見坂をたどると萩の花が咲き始めており、道端に俳聖の像がひっそりと佇んでいた。

Tracing the travel of the famous ancient haiku poet, Basho, I also visited the Chusonji temple in Hiraizumi. A statue of Basho stands quietly by narrow path, and a Japanese bush clover flowering aside.
